Your St Stephens candidates for the May 2022 district council elections are Ajanta Hilton, Vladimir Jirasek and Giles Fry
Vladimir Jirasek has lived in St Albans since 2003. As a small business owner in the high-tech industry he understands the challenges of the modern society, balancing the needs of sustainability, prosperity, and social fairness. Vladimir gives back to St Albans community as a governor of a local school, ensuring the children get the best education possible. Vladimir believes that thinking globally but acting locally is the best way to achieve the best balance and ensure the best future for our children.
Chartered accountant Ajanta Hilton currently works part time as a personal trainer as well as for Rainbow Centre Sri Lanka charity. She's lived in St Stephen for over 30 years, where she has three children and two dogs.
She's been a parish councillor for two years and thoroughly enjoy being part of where she live, and helping the area thrive; Ajanta says arranging the Christmas Market was a real highlight in 2021. If elected as district councillor, Ajanta will work hard to preserve the lovely green spaces in our area. She also hopes to focus on helping those businesses and families who have been struggling financially on a local level due to Covid restrictions.
Giles Fry has lived in St Albans, with his wife Lucy, since 2008. He has two primary school aged children who attend Killigrew Primary School, where he also serves as a Governor. As a small business owner in the Hospitality sector, Giles fully understands the difficulty his team and consumers and suppliers have in working with the escalating costs of living, post pandemic.
