Our International Women’s Day reception is back again for 2022!
Join us at The Barn @ The Horn on 11 March to have a free drink and hear from inspirational and influential St Albans women, who will be sharing their stories and telling us their hopes for the future. Co-hosted by Daisy Cooper MP and Josie Madoc.

Speakers:
Mangala Patil Mead
Mangala is a consultant in occupational medicine who served in the British Army for over 20 years, initially as a junior doctor and subsequently as a GP. She is a working mother and environmental activist.
Becky Alexander
Becky is an author, food writer and book editor. Her latest book The Green Lunch Box has just been published by Orion Books and includes lots of delicious ideas for veggie/vegan lunches for work or home. She has also written over 300 food articles for The Herts Advertiser.
Elissa Da Costa-Waldman
Elissa has been a practising barrister for over three decades, and is also a mediator, collaborative lawyer and family arbitrator who has authored several books on the law. She's been chair of St Albans United Synagogue for three years prior to becoming co-chair for the last year. Elissa also co-chairs ‘Sisters in Law’, Nisa-Nashim, a group for Jewish and Muslim women lawyers.
Nic Keaney
Currently deputy lead of trends for Twitter, and formerly foreign news editor at Sky News, Nic was awarded the Forbes '30 Under 30' accolade for her work in journalism. Nic has lived in St Albans for several years and is passionate about using her voice to speak up about injustice and investigate wrongdoing.
This event is hosted by St Albans Liberal Democrats but open to all, including men!
