Your Hill End Lib Dem candidates for the May 2022 St Albans district council elections are Azmat Mughal, Anthony Rowlands and Jamie Day.
Azmat Mughal is an HR specialist who lives in Hill End ward with his family. He volunteers and supports many community organisations like the Al Bayyinah community school and food bank organisations. He has raised funds to support refugees and for deprived communities in Pakistan. He has become politically active because he wants to help people with issues such as planning, parking, and tackling anti-social behaviour.
Anthony Rowlands has served St Albans residents for over 30 years as a hugely active and dedicated district and county councillor. He is deputy leader of the District Council and lead for the Public Realm. A former teacher and director of a public policy think tank, Anthony’s non-political pursuits include long distance running and supporting St Albans City and Burnley.
District councillor Jamie Day has lived in St Albans for over thirty years, and runs a small agricultural publishing business. Jamie has represented the Highfield Estate for 16 years. Since the Lib Dems assumed control of the Council, he has held lead roles in planning and in climate change measures. As a trustee of Highfield Park Trust, Jamie would work to maintain and develop this important community asset for the benefit of all residents.
