Chris Grayling, as Secretary of State for Transport, has presided over one of the worst disruptions to commuters in St Albans in living memory. Thousands of passengers have been hit with cancelations, daily delays, and often zero information.
The extent to which this has damaged the lives of some individuals is all too apparent as more stories come to public attention. Already it has become clear that children taking their GCSE exams have been seriously affected as well as travellers with vital healthcare appointments.
It is clear that Chris Grayling has failed at every stage of the way. Specifically, he has failed to:
1) Run a proper consultation
2) Deliver a timetable that works
3) Reinstate the East Midlands stops at Bedford and Luton that would alleviate pressure for St Albans Commuters
4) Answer why the timetable went ahead when the rail industry knew it wasn’t ready and was doomed to fail.
We the undersigned call upon Chris Grayling to resign as Secretary of State for Transport.
