Your Bernards Heath candidates for the May 2022 district council elections are Mangala Patil Mead, Helen Campbell and Jez Levy.
District and county councillor Helen Campbell has lived in St Albans for 20 years. She is married to Neil and they have two children now both at university. Alongside her growing council roles, she is self-employed as a journalist and writer, trained as an English teacher and volunteers extensively in the community, particularly with homeless people. She works closely with community groups to safeguard green spaces, and additionally focuses on vulnerable people, road safety and the environment.

A St Albans resident since the mid-seventies, Jez Levy attended Killigrew and Verulam schools. Having travelled the UK with work, Jez finally settled back here in 2001 with his wife and children. Jez runs a successful and popular optical practice at the Quadrant. Dedicating much of his spare time to promoting and fundraising for small local good causes and charities, Jez is involved in youth mental health organisations, youth and community football and local initiatives helping homeless and vulnerable people.
Dr Mangala Patil Mead is an Army veteran and environmental campaigner. A keen runner, cyclist and mother of a young child, she recognises the value of healthy and safe spaces in which to live, and that community action plays a key part in optimising mental and physical health on a scalable level. Her priorities are protecting our green spaces, optimising community facilities and supporting community members in living healthy independent lives.
