Mark Pedroz, Anthony Rowlands and Iqbal Zia are the Liberal Democrat team in Ashley
District councillor Mark Pedroz has lived in St Albans for 24 years, taught locally and is a self-employed educational consultant. He lives off the Hatfield Road, with his partner, a teenager, two cats and Poppy the cavalier. We love our neighbourhood, especially Longacres and Highfield Park. Mark wants to promote community values, campaign for twenty’s plenty in side roads and improve our green places. He has supported local residents in the pandemic, and negotiated with developers.
County councillor Anthony Rowlands is also deputy leader of the District Council. He has represented Ashley Ward since 2006 and before that Marshalswick South for 17 years. A native of the Isle of Wight, he has lived in the City since 1980. His late wife, Harriet, taught at Beaumont School and both their children attended local schools. Apart from being an avid runner – he has completed the St Albans Half Marathon 36 times – he is a devoted supporter of Burnley FC and St Albans City FC.

Iqbal’s priorities for the district council going forward are protecting the Green Belt and delivering more funding for road repairs.
