Delivering more homes people can afford to buy and rent

For too long, too many people who call St Albans their home have been forced to leave due to sky-rocketing house prices.

Youngsters. Keyworkers, like nurses and teachers. Older residents looking to downsize.

People the district should be treating well are being forced to leave the place they love because they simply can't afford to buy or rent here.

But it doesn't have to be this way. There is an alternative to this injustice.

With your support on 2 May, a Lib Dem-run council will:

  • Turn the council into a developer in its own right.
  • Include much-needed social housing on all new developments of a certain size.
  • Ensure essential infrastructure is in place before people start moving in.

Conservative leaders have failed to take action. But a Liberal Democrat council will deliver.

Back our campaign to deliver more homes people can afford to buy and rent.
