The Liberal Democrats have a clear plan to move our district forward after years of Conservative failure.
Thanks to the trust placed in us by the voters in the May 2019 local elections, Liberal Democrats are now the largest party on St Albans District Council.
Our aim is to deliver the change families across St Albans are crying out for and make our area an even better place to live, work and study.
From day one, the Liberal Democrat-run council will:
Build local homes people can afford to buy and rent
By turning the district council into a property developer in its own right and starting to build the volume of social and affordable housing we need to tackle this huge problem.
Improve our environment and tackle climate change
By committing to a carbon-neutral council by 2030, eliminating single-use plastic, introducing Clean Air Zones, and investing in measures to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
Support community facilities and enhance play areas
By investing in parks and green spaces across the district, ensuring our children have access to high-quality play areas and improving the facilities local community centres offer.
