London Colney Garden Village Consultation

We the undersigned

  1. Note the ongoing consultation taking place in Hertsmere District regarding the building of a garden village around Coursers Farm and Salisbury Hall.
  2. Note that the proposed village will be joined to London Colney but that no consultation is taking place with London Colney residents in St. Albans District.
  3. Note that any development will have a major impact on the transport infrastructure around London Colney which is already overloaded.
  4. Note that the boundary between St. Albans and Hertsmere runs through London Colney, with McDonalds, the Holiday Inn Express and Mosquito Museum all in Hertsmere.

Call upon Hertsmere borough and St. Albans district councils

  1. to work together on strategic developments in the London Colney area and ensure that residents on both sides of the border are effectively consulted on any proposals
  2. to jointly work together to address existing issues affecting the transport infrastructure in the London Colney area.

David Moore. Infrastructure needs to be sorted out before any village of that size is even thought about and schools, doctors, shops etc must be built first, before the houses, or the builders will say they can’t afford them at the end of the build. Not happy that it is so close to our village.

We are already struggling with doctors, traffic levels and schools and don’t need this additional site adding to the problem. The infrastructure will not cope

Where would more children go to school? Which roads or trains would more people get to work on?

Just because the developer can make fantastic money does not make it a good idea to develop!

Not wanted without proper infrastructures in place – new schools doctor surgeries etc

There isn’t the infrastructure in place to support this scheme. Time for a rethink before this daft idea becomes anywhere near reality.

I strongly oppose to the garden village around Coursers Farm. not enough consultation with residents and taxpayers affected.

For the council in St Albans to consider the application for planning permission for sheds and garages and extensions on existing property in this area as inappropriate and detrimental development. It is beyond any belief that thousands of houses on green belt has even been a consideration has planning gone absolutely mad

What about all the other considerations,l infrastructure, roads ,overpopulation, grid lock, schools transport, hospitals etc this area does not need any more urban sprawl or it will just like South London
