London Colney Garden Village Consultation

We the undersigned

  1. Note the ongoing consultation taking place in Hertsmere District regarding the building of a garden village around Coursers Farm and Salisbury Hall.
  2. Note that the proposed village will be joined to London Colney but that no consultation is taking place with London Colney residents in St. Albans District.
  3. Note that any development will have a major impact on the transport infrastructure around London Colney which is already overloaded.
  4. Note that the boundary between St. Albans and Hertsmere runs through London Colney, with McDonalds, the Holiday Inn Express and Mosquito Museum all in Hertsmere.

Call upon Hertsmere borough and St. Albans district councils

  1. to work together on strategic developments in the London Colney area and ensure that residents on both sides of the border are effectively consulted on any proposals
  2. to jointly work together to address existing issues affecting the transport infrastructure in the London Colney area.

St Albans is crowded as it is. One your building the on a flood field and two traffic can be a nightmare along there any way without the extra homes it would cause caos.

The complete disregard for the opinions/consultation of London Colney residents in, what will obviously be, a decision that will affect us tremendously, is absolutely appalling. The impact this proposed build will have on our already overstretched road system cannot be stressed enough. The reality is, London Colney will change from somewhere rather nice to live in to another urban rat run.

Absolutely appalled at hearing this. I have never voted Lib Dem but they certainly seem to be looking out for London Colney residents more so than other parties on this issue. Thank you for informing us.

I am not opposed to this development and regonose new housing is much needed and plans are at a very early stage. I strongly believe the two authorities should be working together to ensure a considered scheme.

This will already increase the amount of traffic in London Colney , at this rate we will need at least two bypasses which we don’t have room for.

    I would ask

Who is overall control of decisions and plans ?

    How can this happen?

Why no consultation with the affected area of London Colney ?

Where do they think the impact will fall on ?

When are the resources going to be included planned for and supplied to London Colney residents ?

The village can’t currently cope with the huge flow of cut-through traffic or the constant building of new homes and extensions on every bit of spare space in the village. The village will just become overspill for those people who are priced out of housing in St. Albans & Radlett.

I am feeling that London Colney is not being consulted as an attempt to sideline the village.

There are three Primary schools that would need to be expanded and recruit new teachers, there is no secondary school in the village at the moment.High street is already becoming congested.parking is an issue around Tesco in London colney .I just feel that this attempt to ignore us ,is a cheap way of not investing in the village and its people.

We moved from a large busy town to a pretty little village for peace and quiet. We do not like the sound of this proposal which no-one knows about. Thank you for being it to put attention.
