St Albans Lib Dems have launched a campaign to call upon the Secretary of State for Transport to freeze the fares on Thameslink in 2017 and 2018.
Here are the facts on Govia's let-down of St Albans commuters:
£100 million: Profit made by Govia Thameslink parent company "Go Ahead".
£20 million: Government bailout package awarded to Govia (the day before record £100m profits were declared).
£4168: Cost of annual St Albans Zones 1-6 ticket, due to rise by £71 next January. The cost of travelling from St Albans to London is one of the most expensive commuter journeys in the UK.
84%: the company’s official punctuality record is the worst in the country.
